After reading a few inspirational books of truly amazing people running across countries to raise money for charities, I have come to the brilliant idea that I will attempt to do the same for the NSPCC. As a child, I was fortunate enough to be brought up in a safe and loving environment. But unfortunately this is not true for many children who are abused, which destroys their childhood and leads to life long ill effects. To help raise funds to combat this, I will be running from John o' Groats to Lands End (around 950 miles/1528km, from the top to bottom of Briitain) to help raise money for the NSPCC, who are the leading children's charity fighting to prevent child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. Each step I will take is a step closer towards preventing child abuse.

People have been asking me "Why on earth am I doing this?!", and so below I have stated my internal and external reasons why I'm taking on this challenge. (Thanks to Neil Thubron's book - 'Yucan: Achieve any Big Goal using the 7P formula for success' for this)

Internal:

  • Personal challenge of pushing my body to its limits

  • The primitive draw of exploring Britain by foot

External:

  • All the children (300,000+) the NSPCC helps and supports. What I'm going to put myself through is going to be nothing compared to what they suffering.
